a contemporary country band (with a sprinkling of bluegrass
influence in some of their songs) formed by founding members
Perry Martin and Gina Quartaro.

Truly embodying the energy, promise, and high spirits of their
debut album's title, singer-songwriters Gina Quartaro and Perry
Martin are the founders and creative visionaries of the popular
Orange County, California-based country band MARSHALLTOWN
- - loving what they do and learning to just Let It Roll.
Driven by their irresistible harmonies, the band (whose current
lineup includes bassist Pat Mattison, formerly of Kaedmon; Gina's
long-time guitarist Scott Bowers and rock-steady drummer Trevor
Monks, are captivating So Cal audiences with catchy, radio-friendly
songs whose rootsiness and honesty reflect Quartaro's and Martin's
collective lifetime of musical experiences.
For a band that was officially launched only a year and a half
ago, MARSHALLTOWN is quickly building a strong regional
buzz. They've built an increasingly enthusiastic fan base with
their electrifying performances at O.C. hotspots like Metro
Pointe in Costa Mesa, The Irvine Spectrum, Tia Juana's Long
Bar & Grill in Irvine, and South County's The Swallows Inn,
The Coach House opening for country music idol Hal Ketchum.
Expanding north to L.A. County, the group has played for the
Coffee Gallery Backstage and the legendary Cowboy Palace honky-tonk
in Chatsworth. In 2008, Ginaand Perry were also invited to audition
for the popular TV show Nashville Star and made their way through
a few rounds of auditions. In April of 2009 MARSHALLTOWN,
or SWAY as they were known then, was nominated best Country/Americana
group in Orange County.
In Robert Kinsler's review of Let It Roll in the Orange County
Register, the known critic and local music taste maker wrote,
"Although this band was launched a mere eight months ago,
the qunitet's masterful debut sounds is as if it was honed by
musicians who have been working together for years."
That life emerges brilliantly on all ten tracks of Let It Roll,
from Gina's high spirited girl power tune "Cowgirl Scene"
to Perry's heartfelt song, This World to the easy rolling pop-influenced
song "More Than Enough."
This band is destined for greatness.

songs, solid arrangements and effortless musicianship, as well
as emotive lead vocals and pleasing harmonies.

“Let It Roll”
is evidence that country music can be new and fresh, and
that Sway (now MARSHALLTOWN) is the act that is leading the
charge. Twenty-five years from now, “Let It Roll”
will be seen as an album that influenced an entire generation
of musicians. This bodes well for all of music.

I've been waiting for a while for a band and song
to come along that will ultimately prove what country radio
is made of, and I've finally found it. Cowgirl Scene, the opening
track from Let It Roll, should put this band firmly on the Country
music map. Suffice it to say that on a major label with the
right marketing push, this is a #1 hit.
